Advanced Yoga and Mental Trainng for Figure Skating

Advanced Yoga for Figure Skaters:

Angela combines her yoga knowledge with her experience as a coach of many national-level figure skaters in these classes. This figure skating-specific yoga class relates to developing spin variations, jump rotation velocity, core strength, and improving mental focus and confidence. 

Athletes and sports organizations can join existing classes or customize a program to meet the athletes' needs within your club.

High-Performance Mental Skill for Figure Skaters:

Week One - Daily Task Sheet (PDF): Each task is carefully designed to enhance your mental skills and technical focus, bringing you closer to your training goals.

Task (Page One Only):

  • Draw solo before each session

    1. Hand in at the end of the day

  • Technical focus: 

    • Actively count spins 

  • Brain Behaviour:

    • Recognize distractions and Check ✅Back-in

Week Two - Daily Task Sheet (PDF): This week, we will build upon the tasks from the previous week, allowing you to see your growth and improvement.

Task (Both Pages):

  • Draw solos with more detail to [enhance your ability to visualize and execute complex movements].Divide the program into 2-3 sections

    1. Please bring it to the ice surface and, using a highlighter, complete the program analysis immediately after your program.

  • Technical focus:

    • Actively count spins 

      1. Draw solo with more detail than last week

  • Brain Behaviour:

  • 1. Cue breath at the beginning of each section 

  • 2. Short mental check-in immediately after the program.
